Kaxite 2209 PTFE gasket sheet with 25% glass fiber filled is a high molecular weight polymer and one of the most versatile plastics known to man. This PTFE sheet is filled with 25% glass fibers by weight. The filled material significantly reduces cold flow and creep and increases wear resistance compared to unfilled PTFE sheet. It can handle a very broad range of chemicals with the exception of molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. This style is suitable for service at temperatures from the cryogenic range up to 500°F.

Adding glass to PTFE sheet makes it stronger and more durable, as well as reducing flexibility and likelihood of creep. 25% glass filled PTFE sheet can operate at the same temperature range as virgin PTFE and is similarly chemically inert. Glass has little effect on most of PTFE's electrical or chemical properties. It is resistant to acids and oxidation, but alkali can attack it.

Glass in the form of short glass fibers is usually filled in quantities of 15% to 25%. Increasing the Glass filler content results in an increase in durability and compressive strength.
